We are a business that needs to produce income to prosper. So, unlike many of the other members of the travel agency industry in BC, we work with you in a special dual agency relationship when we book your travel. The vast majority of agents act solely for the supplier of the travel service. Our dual agency arrangement means that in many cases we have a duty to both you and the supplier of the travel service and legally owe their loyalty to tem. It also means we will deal with both parties impartially, and are required to maintain the confidentiality of any information provided by either you or the supplier. We operate under this style of arrangement as we accept remuneration from both parties in some cases. Some, but by no means all, suppliers may provide a commission for selling their service to you. We also charge you a professional service fee for the advice and assistance we provide to you. This way we can still book the supplies who do not pay any commission.
In any case where we make a booking on your behalf, the terms and conditions that the supplier imposes on the transaction will apply. We have no authority to amend or waive these elements of the contract. We will advise you about any of these and tell you where those conditions may be reviewed before we proceed to complete a booking on your behalf. You should know that we make no warranties or guarantees regarding the services that these suppliers will provide to you.
As a general rule, the suppliers control the price of the services they provide. Any prices we quote are subject to the rules and application as provided by the supplier. In some cases a supplier will quote a "net" price to us, in which case we normally apply an industry consistent mark-up. In situations where we quote an "all-in" price for a combination of services from multiple suppliers, we will include any mark-ups that we feel are appropriate and these transactions will be exempt from professional service fees. In all cases taxes and other statutory fees are above and beyond the prices provided by suppliers and are subject to change as applied by the authorities that apply the charges.
Any changes, cancellations and refunds will be governed by the supplier terms and conditions. In no cases are the fees or mark-ups we charge subject to refunds as our service is consumed at the time it is delivered to you. We strongly advise any client to purchase the appropriate travel insurance to protect their investment in travel services.
In the normal course of our business we make payments on your behalf to various suppliers. When we do this we are working under your express direction and at that point you have agreed to all the various elements of the supplier's contract. The specific form of payment in no way relieves you of your responsibilities under that contract. We in no way accept any consequences for any failure you make in honouring the payment. You will be required to sign a standard credit card form for any payment you make with a credit card.
You have the sole responsibility to have the appropriate documentation required by various governments to travel to and from your destination and all intermediate places. The cost of arranging these documents is never included in our prices and is completely the responsibility of the traveler. We will help and advise you in any way we can on a best effort basis, but all responsibility for this is yours.
We provide our services on a "best effort" basis and make no warranty regarding the information provided by various travel suppliers. When we offer advice or opinions, we do so within the limits of our own knowledge and accept no responsibility beyond the value of our service fee value for any subsequent loss experienced by the traveler. All complaints and claims must be brought to our attention in a written and timely manner and in no case more than 21 days following the return of the traveler to Canada.
Any dispute regarding service we provide must be brought in British Columbia. You are subject to the process available to you through the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Agency of BC if you are a resident of BC.
